Located on the corner of Via San Nicolò, in the center of Reggio Emilia, Palazzo Guicciardi is a small artistic treasure.

The building, of ancient construction, was renovated in the 1700s by architect Giovanni Maria Ferraroni. It was then restored during the first half of the 1800s by Marchelli, when ownership of the building changed over to the Spalletti Trivelli family, who also owned the building next door. The inside hosts a wealth of important decorations from the 1800s, such as the ceiling with Apollo with the Court of the Hours by Prospero Minghetti, and the impressive ball room with false colonnades and curtains painted by Vincenzo Carnevali.
The building is now home to the Credito Emiliano bank which has filled its halls with a wonderful collection of Emilian paintings including Satyr with nymph by Giuseppe Maria Crespi, The Deposition by Alessandro Tiarini, Ecce Homo by Guido Reni and Cimmerian Sibyl by Guercino.
